Louis Wain was born August 5, 1860 and dided July4, 1939. He was an English artist whose art consisted of cats with large eyes and kittens. In his older years he suffered with schizophrenia. Some psychologists say that this is seen in some of his works. Louis Wain was born with cleft lip and the doctor ordered his parents that he should not be sent to school and not to be taught until he was ten years old. He drew pictures of him and his wife's cat, Peter, to entertain his wife because she was dying of breast cancer. He drew his pictures more of a cat than a human.
